We understand that no project is the same, and we believe that what sets us apart is our substantial industry experience combined with our willingness to treat each project on its own merits. Listening to the clients' needs and understanding their requirements is what we believe will ultimately provide the best end product. A well designed project, properly installed by engineers who truly care, will provide reliable, efficient, 365 day year round performance and compliance.
To help ensure the quality and reliability of our installation, we collaborate with our dedicated commercial air conditioning supplier, Daikin, whom we have dealt with since our company inception in 2002. As a registered 'D1 status' account holder with Daikin, we are able to offer market leading extended warranty periods of up to 7 years as standard. This accreditation has been achieved following diligent inspections of our work carried our regularly by Daikin UK to ensure impeccable installation standards. We insist on using only the best quality equipment and materials. Each factor of an installation is designed from the ground up and we're simply unwilling to compromise on the standards we work towards; personally taking pride in our workmanship.
When considering employee productivity and welfare in the commercial sector, a comfortable climate is an aspect often overlooked. There is increasing evidence to suggest that staff are at their best when they're working within an environment that is sufficiently ventilated and thermally controlled via a dedicated HVAC / air conditioning system. So much so, a research paper recently published by The Journal of Environmental Health Science and Engineering concluded that failure to provide an acceptable indoor climate can lead to a decrease in occupant productivity of up to 38%.
It's also worth noting that modern air conditioning systems can be an effective method of heating as well as cooling. When comparing energy consumption and efficiency data to a traditional gas fired boiler, air conditioning systems can be up to three times more efficient, meaning a well designed air conditioning system can provide an efficient heating and cooling solution for efficient year round comfort.
Key Points:
Not necessarily, modern air conditioning systems are now just as useful during winter months thanks to their ability to provide incredibly efficient heating; often up to 3 times more efficient than traditional gas fired boilers.
Under very specific circumstances air conditioning systems can omit unpleasant odours. Often described as 'musty' or stale. Quite simply this is just down to lack of maintenance, a dirty environment or occasionally, lack of use. Any unpleasant odours are only temporary and can easily be rectified simply by a sufficient servicing schedule. A correctly maintained air conditioning system will not smell.
Incorrect, modern air conditioning systems are incredibly cost effective to run, thanks to inverter technology, clever design and highly efficient refrigerants. Let's use a typical 3.5kW wall mounted system hypothetically located in an office / small meeting room as an example. Using the Daikin running cost simulator and an average UK electricity price of £0.14p/kWh, we can see that despite running the system eight hours a day, five days a week, 35 weeks a year, the estimated annual running cost is just £177.07, or approximately £0.88p a day.
Daikin systems are whisper quiet with sound pressure levels as low as 19dBA, meaning most systems would remain barely audible during everyday usage. Drafts are also entirely avoidable with correct design and the implementation of swirl diffusers where applicable. Failing this, Daikin systems have the ability to fully adjust the oscillation and angle of the discharge air louvers to avoid direct air contact with building occupants.
A server room is often a pivotal component of a modern business, and as such, maintaining a stable server temperature year round is crucial. Server rooms, data centres and IT technology rooms have some key differences to comfort cooling applications and can often provide their own unique challenges. Trying to accurately manage sensible / latent cooling requirements whilst simultaneously minimising dehumidification and unwanted static electricity build up is an important factor which must be taken into account.
Together with our suppliers we can work around these challenges and offer dedicated infrastructure cooling solutions to ensure efficient, reliable 24/365 cooling (down to an external ambient of -20°C), with optional duty rotation, BMS integration, remote management and fault alarm signalling.
When designing a system suitable for infrastructure cooling, we commonly advise to have a standby air conditioning unit or units. This standby unit will automatically operate in the event of a fault with one of the duty units, therefore guaranteeing the server room temperature remains stable. Whilst the likeyhood of a breakdown is minimal, we advise implementing this strategy for client peace of mind.
Our customer base includes offices, data centres, manufacturing sites, health centres, laboratories, schools, government buildings, shopping centres, retail stores and leisure centres. Our key accounts are located in Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire and Cambridgeshire; although we can offer our services nationwide.
Keeping a doctor’s surgery at the correct temperature is vital for the comfort and wellbeing of doctors, nurses, and patients. At CLG we can provide doctors surgery air conditioning services to practices, clinics and medical centres across multiple counties.
A shopper is far more likely to spend time browsing in a retail outlet if they feel comfortable. We've installed multiple systems into retail stores all across the UK. We are able to design and build a suitable air conditioning system to suit any application or budget.
We've worked in several schools and educational facilities, from small independent primary schools to large college campuses. We understand how a comfortable classroom helps maintain students focus and concentration on the task at hand.
We can cater to any form of commercial office / workspace. Typically our style of installation is not commonplace due to our preference to install concealed ducted units as opposed to a traditional 'cassette' system. Whilst concealed ducted systems are often more expensive, we typically believe that they offer a higher quality end product. The system is fully concealed above the ceiling and is connected to bespoke powder coated 600x600mm anti draft swirl diffusers located strategically around the occupied space; preventing drafts and uneven hot/cold spots
It's not uncommon for manufacturing processes to require temperature regulation to guarantee quality control and reliable production year round. We have an ever expanding manufacturing focused customer base and can confidently design a system with your requirements in mind. We often recommend ultra fine filtration and self cleaning systems in these types of applications as we have found that this generally helps improve the lifespan of equipment and dramatically helps increase air quality.
In laboratories, where hazardous substances are handled, the design of the ventilation and air conditioning system has to focus on the protection of lab staff and of the environment. Three prime objectives according to EN 14175 have to be achieved:
While splash and shatter protection can obviously be ensured by the construction of a fume cupboard, the first two points require volume flow control. This is why air management also has the principal task of creating conditions that meet these requirements reliably and efficiently, in Germany to DIN 1946-7 and EN 14175:
